“Hello there~…”

“Hm…? My, it’s not often that someone comes up all the way to the upper floors. Has some kind of problem come up?”

Yes, actually, there is a rather major problem with the dungeon― is what Licht would have liked to say. But he got the feeling that they weren’t operating on the same definition of ‘problem’, so he kept his mouth shut to avoid needless complications.

(Roze… She’s a vampire so she should be sleeping during the day― which she was definitely not doing. Perhaps because she was responsible for the first area of the dungeon, there was no time to rest.)

Instead, Roze was patrolling and looking out for intruders.

As Roze’s territory was the closest to the entrance of the dungeon, it would no doubt be seeing the most action of all areas.

With this kind of additional pressure on top of having to defend such a wide area, it was an impossibly heavy burden for one person to bear.

“At the moment, I am investigating the matter of Dystopia’s labour shortage, but it seems more serious than I imagined…”

“Goodness… I offer you my sincere gratitude on behalf of all of us. Dear Feyris is certainly in a tough spot, isn’t she? I especially feel bad for her since my own duties are quite leisurely.”

“Eh?”

Licht was not expecting such a response.

From what he could see, Roze was the type of overachiever who would become restless if they weren’t working.

To go to the extent of neglecting sleep in order to do her patrols, it would not be surprising if she was this dungeon’s top employee.

“Um, Roze, how many territories are you in charge of?”

“Seven, why do you ask…”

“Seven!?”

Licht’s shock was worn clearly on his face.

Roze definitely had the greatest burden out of all of the Demon Lord’s employees.

However, the person herself didn’t seem to be aware of it.

It was earnestness and humbleness taken to a perverted degree.

“About that… I think we should do something about that.”

“―No, no, I’m a vampire so you don’t have to worry about me! I’m much tougher than normal people!”

Roze responded with a carefree smile.

Licht had started to get a grasp on Roze’s personality after conversing with her.

It would be no exaggeration to say that Dystopia was being propped up by this extreme people pleaser of a vampire.

“Well, then again, it’s not like I can split the work among more positions…”

(In the end it comes down to not having enough people but this isn’t exactly a job you can openly recruit for… If only there was some other way to get the same effect.)

“―Ah, there’s that!”

“W-What’s the matter?”

Licht recalled a certain existence.

In order to strengthen Dystopia, acquiring additional manpower was mandatory.

Normally, it would take a considerable amount of time to recruit new members one by one.

However, there once was a being who laughed at the idea of worrying over manpower.

There was no one who called themselves an adventurer who had not heard the tale.

What had sprung up in Licht’s mind was a certain legendary necromancer.

TL Note: Roze is a masochistic vampire maid lol. I wonder if she uses throwing knives?

  1. It feels weird how they’re acting over familiar with each other. You’d think they’d take the books and coffins away but their guardian areas are left undamaged despite time passing
